Job Description:
Summer students will be asked to complete a wide range of tasks including: hand mowing, string trimming, hand weeding, gardening, infield grooming, janitorial duties in facilities, garbage collection and special event monitoring. There will be the operation of various pieces of equipment used in the daily maintenance operations of the Parks department; training will be provided before any staff is asked to complete a task or operate a piece of equipment.
Summer students will work with an experienced full-time staff member but will be required to work alone and or self-supervised on weekends and during special events. Summer students will take direction from the Parks and Facilities Superintendent or full time staff members that they are working with.
Job Qualifications: MUST possess a Valid Driver’s Licence. Must have your own steel toe boots. Operation of standard transmissions and Level I First Aid would be assets.
